Catering By SMG Long Beach.

In the News.

Catering by SMG is a company built on a national reputation for superior food and beverage service. But they bring much more to the table than just great food.  In their ongoing commitment as a business leader to get involved with community services, Catering by SMG has teamed up with Girls and Boys Town of Southern California on various projects by providing their resources to help benefit many of the kids associated with Girls and Boys Town programs.

Last December Catering by SMG began their initiatives as a partner in the Open House event at the Long Beach Home. Along with Chef Isaac Flores providing dinner for the residents and staff, Catering by SMG also supplied the shelter with new comforters and pillows for all the rooms and stuffed stockings. The staff from Catering by SMG also came well stocked with holiday decorations in an effort to create a spirited environment.

The Lennar Campus in East Rancho Dominguez opened its doors with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and Grand Opening reception in July. Catering by SMG contributed by co-sponsoring the event and providing catering services to more than 200 guests.

More recently, Catering by SMG has created an interactive cooking class for the residents at the Long Beach Home. The classes are developed to give the kids a sense of interdependency and an opportunity to learn classical skills while disguised as fun and creative projects. Chef Isaac Flores and Chef Brian Casey have taken the lead on this initiative bringing over 60 pounds of pizza dough, 55 pounds of cheese and a variety of toppings to their first cooking lesson. The “students” inspired the Chefs with their passion and enthusiasm. Employment opportunities were even extended to a couple of the boys turning eighteen this year.

Catering by SMG continues to grow in their responsibility to extend support to their community. They’re committed to using their resources to warm spirits, celebrate accomplishments and ensure success in today’s youth.
